Texas Honor Ride - September 19, 2009
It was a great day at the Texas Honor Ride at Conroe, Texas today.
Texas Honor Ride raised funds to support wounded troops recovering at Brooks Army Medical Center in San Antonio.
Over the last four years Texas Honor Ride has raised over $280,000 to support our Wounded Warriors and their families. We met some of them today.

For the Love of Kids and Harleys
Congratulations to the organizers of "For the Love of Kids and Harleys" fund raiser for pediatric health issues in San Antonio.
George Strait headlined the auctioneering team and assisted raising funds. His boots, taken right off his feet went for $13,000, his hat went for $4,500 not to mention the Buell Harley-Davidson bikes that raised $50,000.

Bad news on the bike front
Discovered a bad rear rotor during a maintenance check on the bike. Looks like I'll be off to the bike shop this weekend to buy a new one.
This might keep us off the road this weekend. Oh Well, better safe and in one piece than very sorry.

Power Sport Models Supports Texas Honor Ride
Stop by and visit the Power Sport Models booth during the September 19, 2009 Texas Honor Ride event in Conroe, Texas.
All the Power Sport Model Harley-Davidson motorcycle replicas will be availble for purchase at the reduced price of $60.00 and that includes all taxes. Actual price will be $55.43 plus tax or $60.00 even. We accept cash and , checks/credit cards with identification.
We'll even have a few special Harley-Davidson replicas that are very difficult to find like the 1940 Ford/Harley-Davidson Wrecker or the 1929 Ford Harley-Davidson Model A.
We look forward to meeting all riders at the event supporting our wounded troops. See you there.

On the Road in Marble Falls and Johnson City, Texas
Stopped for the night in Marble Falls, Texas, a really nice little town in central Texas west of Austin on the Colorado River. We had drinks overlooking the river. A quick stop at the local Walmart and we'll be back on the road in the morning. Stopping off at the Lyndon Johnson ranch before heading home to Houston.
Had breakfast at the Bluebonnet Cafe in Marble Falls. Great food and lots of bikers. Service was quick but they don't accept plastic. Cash only, so be prepared.
The Lyndon Johnson ranch was very interesting but not every room in the Western White House is open to the public yet. To know that decisions that effected millions were made by the men in the same room we were in was interesting.
